May we introduce ourselves?
Our slogan “Come as a guest; leave as a friend” is not just an empty phrase. Many guests have already experienced the truth in this statement after a great stay with a feeling of leaving friends behind. The sincere friendliness and “care-free” attitude of the local people is the key to that special experience. Most staff members have personally helped, some for 10 years or more, to build Thalassa to what it is now. There is a real sense of ownership, instead of having “just a job” and you can really feel that difference. We would like to introduce them to you one by one. (Click on a picture to enlarge it).

The next generation
Thalassa also supports the next generation of dive center staff. With the project “Kehidupan Anda”, started by Simone in 2007, the local school in the village educates adolescents for jobs in the dive and hotel/ resort industry. The students of the dive tourism school learn how to swim, snorkel and dive, manage rescues and perform first aid; maintain equipment, work as a deck hand, and learn how to guide other divers under water.
They are also educated in ecology and environmental protection practices and simple research techniques. If you come over and dive with us, you will surely meet some of them.
